댈러스 미술관

텍사스 주 댈러스 시의 예술 지구(Arts District)에 위치한 미술관으로 1903년 댈러스예술협회(Dallas Art Association)가 설립되며 시작되었습니다. 댈러스예술협회는 초기에는 댈러스공립도서관의 회화 전시를 담당했다고 합니다. 

1936년 페어 파크(Fair Park)에 자리를 잡게 됩니다. 이후, 빠르게 증가하는 소장품들과 야심찬 전시 계획 등으로 인해 새로운 장소가 필요해졌고, 1970년대 후반 예술 지구로 이전했다고 합니다. 현재의 새로운 빌딩은 에드워드 래러비 반스(Edward Larrabee Barnes)와 John MY Lee Associates의 설계로 지어졌고 2007년에 미국건축가협회(American Institute of Architects)에서 금상을 수여하였습니다.

미술관은 기원전 3천년 전 부터 현재에 이르까지 다양한 시대의 작품을 24천점 이상 소장하고 있습니다. 전시공간은 14,800 제곱미터로 미국에서 가장 큰 미술관 중 하나입니다.

수집품들로는 아프리카(African), 미주(American), 고대 지중해(Ancient Mediterranean), 아시아(Asian), 현대(Contemporary), 장식예술과 디자인(Decorative Arts And Design), 유럽(European), 프레 콜럼비언/환태평양(Pre-Columbian/Pacific Rim), 웬디와 에머리 컬렉션(Wendy and Emery Reves Collection) 등이 있습니다.
