1886년 빈센트는 동생 테오가 있는 파리로 옵니다. 어둡던 그의 화풍은 파리에 있는 동안 인상주의와 일본 우키요에(浮世繪) 판화의 영향을 받으면서 밝은 화풍으로 바뀝니다.

1887년은 그가 파리 생활을 보내고 있을 때였죠.
