샌디에이고 미술관 

샌디에이고 미술관은 샌디에이고에 있는 발보아 공원(Balboa Park) 안에 위치하고 있습니다.

1926년 2월에 The Fine Arts Gallery of San Diego라는 이름으로 개관하였으며, 미술관 건물은 1915년 파나마 운하의 개통을 기념하는 캘리포니아 박람회 당시 본관 건물로 사용되었던 건물이라고 합니다. 현재 이름인 San Diego Museum of Art는 1978년 부터 사용하였습니다.

미술관에서 소장하고 있는 작품들은 기원전 5천년부터 2010년대까지 매우 다양합니다.

특히, 무리요(Murillo), 수르바란(Zurbarán), 코탄(Cotán), 리베라(Ribera), 엘 그레코(El Greco) 등 스페인 화가들의 작품들에 강점이 있습니다. 고전 대가들 작품의 상당수는 앤(Anne), 에이미(Amy), 아이린(Irene) 등 퍼트넘(Putnam)가의 자매들이 기증한 작품이라고 합니다.
