줄여서 NGP라고 하는 프라하 국립미술관의 예전 명칭은 Národní galerie v Praze였으나, 현재 명칭은 Národní galerie Praha입니다. 세계에서 가장 오래된 공공 미술관 중 한 곳으로 1796년 설립되었습니다.

유럽 중부에서 가장 큰 미술관 중 한 곳인데, 미술관의 소장품들은 한 곳에 전시되어 있지 않고, 여러 개의 건물에 나뉘어 전시되어 있습니다. 

이 중 가장 규모가 큰 곳은 현대미술(modern art)이 있는 Trade Fair Palace (벨레트르즈니 궁전, Veletržní Palác)입니다.

벨레트르즈니 궁전에는 2012년부터 2016년까지 무하(Alfons Mucha)의 슬라브 서사시(Slav Epic)가 전시되어 있었습니다.

그 외에 피카소(Pablo Picasso), 모네(Claude Monet), 고흐(Vincent van Gogh), 로댕(Auguste Rodin), 고갱(Paul Gauguin), 세잔(Paul Cézanne), 르누아르(Pierre-Auguste Renoir), 실레(Egon Schiele), 뭉크(Edvard Munch), 미로(Joan Miró), 클림트(Gustav Klimt) 등 19세기에서 21세기 작가들의 작품 위주로 전시되어 있습니다.

벨레트르즈니 궁전 외에도 보헤미아(Bohemia)와 중부 유럽(Central Europe) 작품들이 있는 보헤미아 성 아그네스 수도원(Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia), Graphics Collection, 아시아 작품, 고대 작품 등이 있는 킨스키 궁전(Kinský Palace), 19세기 작품이 있는 살름 궁전(Salm Palace), 바로크 시대 보헤미아 작품들이 있는 슈바르첸베르크 성(Schwarzenberg Palace), 고대 그리스 로마 시대부터 바로크 시대까지의 유럽 작품들이 있는 슈테른베르그 성(Sternberg Palace), 체코 입체파(Czech Cubism) 작품이 있는 House of the Black Madonna 등 여러 곳이 있습니다.
