프랑스 파리 오페라 가르니에 옆에 위치한 카페이자 고급 프랑스 음식점입니다. 나폴레옹 3세에 의해 1862년 6월 30일 문을 열었다고 합니다.

1871년 부터 1914년까지의 벌 에포크(Belle Époque) 시대에는 세르게이 디아길레프(Sergei Diaghilev), 후에 왕이 된 에드워드 7세(Edward VII) 등이 방문했었다고합니다. 1975년 프랑스 정부는 이곳을 역사적 장소(historic site)로 지정하였습니다.

파리에는 세계 최초의 카페라는 르 프로코프(Paris' Le Procope)가 있습니다만 르 프로코프 보다 유명한 카페가 카페 드 플로르(Café de Flore)와 레 두 마고(Les Deux Magots)입니다. 그리고, 그 두 카페만큼 관광객들에게 인기있는 또 다른 카페가 카페 드 라 페(Cafe de la Paix)입니다.

카페가 있는 곳인 인터컨티넨탈 파리 르 그랑 호텔(InterContinental Paris Le Grand Hotel)을 디자인한 건축가 알프레드 아르망(Alfred Armand)이 디자인했다고 하며, 화려한 치장벽토 천장(ornate stucco ceiling), 황금색 벽(gilded walls), 대리석 테이블(marble tables) 등이 유명합니다.
